Grow a Garden 2 Variants: Big, Mega and Rainbow Values

The four variants we track

Every item on the value list is tracked per variant: Normal, Big, Mega, Rainbow. The list shows all four columns side by side, each item's page carries the full table with its update date and source, and the calculator lets you pick the exact variant for every line of a trade. A variant column only gets a number when a tracked market source publishes a separate value for it — otherwise it says "Not listed" instead of pretending.

There is no fixed multiplier

The most expensive mistake in variant trading is assuming a flat rule like "Big is always ten times Normal." Measured across the live list right now, the spread looks like this:

• Big: across the 14 items with both a Normal and a Big value published, the multiplier runs from 1.5× to 290× Normal (median around 150×).
• Mega: across the 4 items with both a Normal and a Mega value published, the multiplier runs from 5.6× to 5000× Normal (median around 2800×).
• Rainbow: across the 11 items with both a Normal and a Rainbow value published, the multiplier runs from 1.2× to 800× Normal (median around 200×).

That spread is the point: the public market baseline publishes item-specific variant estimates, so a flat multiplier would contradict the quotes we actually have. These numbers are measured from the list as of August 17, 2026 and recalculate whenever it updates.

Why so many cells say "Not listed"

Market sources do not publish a separate quote for every variant. “Not listed” applies only to that exact variant: it does not mean the item is worthless or that its Normal or other variants have no market data. We do not turn a published Normal value into a guessed Big, Mega or Rainbow value — the rule is described in the methodology. Trading variants without getting burned

• Price the exact variant from its item page — never scale Normal by a rule of thumb.
• Confirm the variant on the trade screen; "basically a Mega" is a rarity bluff.
• In the calculator, set each line's variant — an unpriced variant is excluded from the total rather than guessed at.
